5 Technologies Air Purifying Systems Use

If you want to enjoy cleaner air in your home or business, you need to install an air purification system. Air purification systems use a few different technology methods to achieve these results.

Technology #1: Ultraviolet Light

With ultraviolet light filters, the light is used to clean the air. The air flows under ultraviolet lights, and the light then uses germicidal irradiation to inactivate the airborne pathogens, cleaning the air.

Technology #2: Activated Carbon

If you want to get rid of gaseous compounds, activated carbon is an excellent type of filter to use. This type of filter filters out gaseous compounds through absorption. Millions of pores in the carbon filter help clean the air and trap harmful elements. The activated carbon can last for a long time before it has to be replaced. 

Technology #3: Ozone Generators

With an ozone generator air purification system, the filter works to create electrically charged oxygen molecules, creating an ozone effect in your building. The ozone electrically charges particles then attracts pathogens and pollutants from the air, trapping and eliminating them. The elements either go into the filter or get heavy and fall to the ground. 

Technology #4: Photocatalytic Oxidation 

A photocatalytic purification system creates a reaction between ultraviolet light and photo-catalysts. This creates something known as Hydroxyl radicals, which are elements that can clean up the air. The Hydroxyl radicals help to neutralize dirt and pollutants in the air by oxidating them. It essential neutralizes and cleans pollutants via the Hydroxyl radicals. 

Technology #5: Needle Point Bi-Polar Ionization 

Finally, there is needlepoint bi-polar ionization. This type of filter puts out a plasma field. The plasma field is filled with positive and negative ions. These ions move through the air system. They attract gas, pathogens, and other particles to the positive and negative ions. The ions then make these items smaller, and they then get stick in the filter, cleaning things up for you. 

The technology behind air purification systems is complex; however, the overall purpose is simple: to keep your air as clean as possible. Most air purification systems actually use at least two of the above technologies to remove the broadest possible range of unwanted items from the air.
